Piano accompaniment for recitals, competitions and exams
Francis is a highly experienced and professional accompanist.
Previous engagements have included Masters recitals at Waikato University, Hamilton Civic Choir concerts since 1994, Hamilton Competitions, Te Awamutu Competitions, Tauranga Competitions, Rotorua NZ Aria Competitons, Trinity College grade and diploma exams, NZ Opera School, Newzats Conferance, Opera Waikato, Garden Opera Company, St Mary's Cathedral Concerts with Dame Malvina Major, Opera Factory, Centrestage Theatre (Orewa) and numerous school based events.
Francis is well known for his ability to support and work sensitively with singers and instrumentalists. He is also well known for his exceptional sight-reading skills.
Booking early is advised to ensure availability.
Ideally music should be sent at least one month in advance. As mentioned, Francis is an excellent sight-reader and can play most music on sight, however for Competitons and exams more complex accompaniments need some preparation!
Please provide photocopies taped into a banner. This allows for easier negotiation of awkward page turns! Also please check copies are clear and complete.
Accompaniment fees should be paid in advance. Please discuss rates which may vary to allow for travel etc.
Basic fees are $60.00 per hour for rehearsal.
Performance for vocal music is $20.00 per song. Instrumental performances will depend on the length or complexity of the work(s).
Administration fee for un-taped music is $10.00
Travel expenses are dependent on each event. For Rotorua NZ Aria Competitions this is petrol only as accommodation is provided by the competition conveners.
Arrangements are best made by email in the first instance then text is the most convenient way to arrange rehearsals etc.
